Resources for Transfer & Graduate Applicants
Applying as a Transfer, or applying to Graduate School can be a very different journey than applying as a first-year freshman. Below are some tips and resources that will help.
Applications
Tip: Transfer students and Graduate applicants need to check the college and program websites to determine the correct application to use and the accompanying deadlines and requirements.
Transfer Tip - Credits
Transferring is all about the classes you've taken and the number of credits you have been awarded. Here are 2 helpful sites: Transferology and Assist.org
Graduate Tip - Testing
As you probably are aware many graduate programs and most Professional Programs require testing. Most often the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, etc. Visit the program websites early, in fact, very early in the process to allow yourself enough to prep, prepare, take, view results, and take again if necessary.
Graduate Tip: Searching for Programs
If you aren't sure where to find graduate programs you can try these 2 resources: Princeton Review & US News and World Report. If you are applying to a program that requires certifications or licenses, the best way to find accredited programs is to visit the licensing or accreditation websites themselves.
Graduate Tip - Requirements
Besides testing, applications, and prerequisites most programs require several other requirements: Experience, Letters of Recommendation from current professors, transcripts, personal statements, and statements of purpose. Please visit those program sites early so you can create a plan and timeline or contact me and I'll be glad to help!
