About Michele

Coleman College Counseling is an independent educational firm owned by Michele Coleman.  CCC specializes in assisting students and families in their college search.  Being the sole owner allows Michele to offer individualized counseling and coaching plans adapted to each student and family’s needs.  In addition to college search, Michele works with:

 

  • Transfer students,

  • College students searching for internships and preparing to enter the workforce,

  • Students who are intent on entering graduate/professional school.

 

Michele has over 14 years of experience in training and organizational development, outplacement and career transition.  In addition to a Masters in Conflict Resolution and courses in College Counseling from UCLA where she received the UCLA Scholars scholarship.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications (writing emphasis), and an English minor from Loyola Marymount University.  

 

She is committed to her community and has over 15 years of experience as a community leader volunteering in various non-profit organizations.  As a mother of 2 children with Type 1, the organization closest to her heart is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation that raises funds to find a cure for children and adults with Type 1 Diabetes.  Michele is also a volunteer reader for the Asian and Pacific Islander Education Fund scholarship.

 

 

Michele is currently a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association, the National Association of College Admissions Counselors, the Western Association for College Admissions Counseling, the American Counseling Association and the American College Counseling Association. she is also a certified Career Development Facilitator.
